B2V-5: 3rd round commences in 41 Panchayats at G’bal

Ganderbal: The third and final round of Back to Village Phase fifth (B2V-5) started on Tuesday in 41 panchayats of district Ganderbal witnessing active participation of PRIs and locals.
The Visiting Officers (VOs) shall be on a two day visit to the allocated panchayats and will make an assessment of making the Panchayat vibrant on socio-economic parameters and prepare and approve the Gram Panchayat Development Plan as per the needs of the people.
On day one, Visiting Officers visited their allotted Panchayats and took first hand appraisal of public issues, inspected development works and also reviewed the functioning of various government institutions.
Special Secretary, Agriculture Production Department (APD), Shafqat Iqbal visited Panchayat Manigam where he interacted with the PRIs, field functionaries of departments and took stock of the developmental scenario of the Panchayat along with making assessment of the government interventions in the said panchayat. He also witnessed several sports activities being organised at Abdullah Park Manigam.
The Special Secretary also took stock of the developmental works taken up in the Panchayat under different schemes and inspected the functioning of several government institutions.
He said that the aim of conducting the programme is to understand the issues of the public and to have appraisal of their genuine issues for early redressal.
Meanwhile, Secretary, Social Welfare Board, Bureeda Majid visited Panchayat Tulmulla-A where she interacted with the locals, inspected various development works and reviewed functioning of Government institutions.
During the day, the Department of Youth Services and Sports Ganderbal organized various cultural and sports events in around 41 panchayats.
The events witnessed the participation of around 560 Youth /students of these panchayats.
