Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has attached one double-storied residential house valuing approximately 12 Lacs belonging to a notorious drug peddler namely Bakhtawar Ahmad Makroo S/o Late Ab Rehman Makroo R/o Gulzarpora Awantipora under section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985 in Awantipora.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that residential house was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Police Awantipora, adding therein that the property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the owner. Police in it’s statement further said thar the said drug peddler is involved in Case FIR numbers 20/2017 and 30/2022 of Police Station Awantipora.
Stating that the notorious drug peddler is currently detained under PIT-NDPS Act and lodged at Central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police said that people of the area have hailed the initiative of Police with regard to the attachment of immoveable property, which has been raised/ used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddlers in the Police District Awantipora.
