Non-Local labourer case: SIU conducts search in Shopian

Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that the special Investigation Unit (SIU) Shopian carried out search in Rawalpora Shopian in connection with the case pertaining to the militant attack on non-local labourers at Gagren Shopian.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said the search was carried out in non-residential house of active militant Hanzal Yaqoob Shah S/o Mohammad Yaqoob Shah associated with LeT militant outfit for his involvement in case FIR No. 126/2023 under section 307 IPC, 7/27 IAA, 16, 18, 20, 23, 38, 39 UAP Act of P/S Shopian.
Police in its statement further said that on July 13 this year militants equipped with illicit weapons targeted three non-local-labourers and left them injured at Gagren Shopian, adding therein that search was conducted as per procedure and law with an intent and plan to dismantle the militant ecosystem and eradicate the militancy completely.
