Jammu: Police on Saturday said that it has seized thirteen (13) vehicles in different areas of Jammu city for being involved in illegal mining activities.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said that in a quest to stern the menace of illegal mining, a multi-pronged strategy was devised by Jammu Police in which police teams of Police Post Pouni Chak and Police Post Sidhra acted stringently on the specific inputs and raided at a location in their respective area during which 13 vehicles involved in illegal mining were seized. Police in it’s statement further said that while 11 Vehicles ( 10 Vehicles without Registration Nos and One Tipper bearing Registration No JK02CE-2939 were seized by Police Post Pouni Chak, Two Vehicles (One Tipper bearing Registration No JK02CT-7238 and one Dumper bearing Registration No JK02CU-7769) were seized by Police Post Sidhra.
Stating that the said recoveries were made by Incharge Police Post Pouni Chak Sub Inspector Ashish Sharma and Incharge Police Post Sidhra Police Sub Inspector Arun Kumar in their respective jurisdictions, Police in it’s statement further said that DMO Jammu was also intimated about the same, adding therein that the
mining was done in violation of order of Jammu & Kashmir High Court. Police in it’s statement also said that in order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law Jammu Police has initiated strict action.
