Srinagar|Nov, 11: An encounter broke out on Saturday between security forces and militants in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, Police said in a post on “X” formerly called “Twitter”.
Kashmir Zone Police in a post on micro blogging social networking site “X” said that an encounter has started in Parigam area of Pulwama district, adding therein that Police and security forces are on the job and further details shall follow.
Officials said that police and army launched a cordon and search operation in the Parigam area following information about movement of militants in the area, adding there that initially, there was a brief exchange of firing between the militants and security forces after which the cordon was tightened and search intensified but n casualties have been reported so far.
