GDC Neeli Nallahorganises three day workshop, cleanliness & plantation drive, awareness rally on “No Plastic Usage”

Udhampur: ECO CLUB of Government Degree College NeeliNallah -Udhampur, in collaboration with NGO ‘live for others-Being helpful foundation (LFO-BHF)’ organised a plantation cum awareness program to mark the UT Foundation day under the guidance of the college Principal, Prof.Hans Raj.
The program was in sequel to string of activities conducted by different clubs of the college.
The main objective of this program was to sensitise the students about the value and importance of trees which are an important National asset.
Different tree species were planted on the college campus to improve the positive ambience which is instrumental in reducing absenteeism and improving the overall health of students who are the future of our nation.
To improve the green cover of the Jammu and Kashmir, Principal of the college planted different kinds of saplings on the campus. In this program students were also made to plant various saplings in order to evoke in them the sense of responsibility and belonging to their alma mat-ter. The Principal, in his address to the students, stressed upon the significance of trees and the kindest thing that we grow for the better tomorrow.
Prof. ShaistaYasmeen, Convener, Eco Club also spoke on the occasion and urged the students to plant and protect trees in order to maintain the diversity Dr.Mansi Sharma, Prof. Swati Dutt, Dr. Radha Rani, Dr. AkhtarHussain, Dr.ZahoorWani were the organizers of the programme. Others present in the program were Dr. MahimaBhagat, Dr. Muntazir Ahmad Bhat, Pradeep Kumar and Swati Sharma.
