Ramban: Food Safety wing of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Department, Rambanon Tuesday organized a ‘Millet Walkathon’ to promote healthy nutrition, better life style and good food habits among the public, under Eat Right Challenge Phase-3 and mark the observance of 2023 as ‘International Year of Millet’.
The programme was held under the aegis of Commissioner, FDA, J&K Shakeel-ul-Rehman.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, HarbansLal Sharma, Tehsildar Headquarter, S. Harveer Singh and Principal, Government Model HSS RambanKewalKrishan participated in the rally .
The rally commenced from GMHSS Ramban and passed through the main bazaar in which hundreds of locals including students, officials, staff members, Police officers participated.
Highlighting the significance of the Millets in our daily life, the ADC underlined the need to create awareness among masses about the importance of adopting a balanced and nutritious diet. He also laid stress on usage and Cultivation of “Millets” , saying that it is a highly nutritious grain and has an important role in our Food Nutrition and wellness.
Dwelling in detail about the aim of the mission, Assistant Commissioner, FDA, Ramban DevDutt Sharma also deliberated on the initiatives of ‘Eat Right India’ with a phase of Eat Right Challenge-3.
Food Safety Officer RambanBalbir Singh also urged the students to promote healthier habits in their daily life, families and society to maintain the nutritious benefits of Millets.
