Bandipora: As part of Legal Services Week and commemoration of Legal Services Day 2023, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora in collaboration with Tehsil Legal Services Committees, Bandipora, Sumbal and Gurez conducted two days door to door awareness campaign in remote areas of the district.
The campaign was organised to impart legal awareness and provide basic legal assistance to public living in far flung areas. The campaign was held under the supervision of Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Bandipora, Nusrat Ali Hakak.
It was given out that the main purpose of the campaign is to spread awareness about welfare legislations, various schemes and to strengthen the community’s access to the schemes being implemented by the Legal Services Authorities and other departments of the Government.
The campaign also aims at identifying and connecting people to NALSA Schemes to ensure that fruits of the welfare are passed to the eligible people.
During the course of campaign, PLVs conducted door to door awareness/ counseling and apprised the public of far flung areas including Panhar, Hudbal, Aemshareef, Shahpora, BadwanGurez, Asham, Inderkote, Parbal and Budgund, Sumbal, about free legal aid and services and those entitled under Section 12 of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987.
On the occasion, people interacted with the PLVs of the district to address their problems and to procure appropriate advice and guidance.
