Kishtwar: The first State Education Achievement Survey (SEAS-2023) was conducted here by the national assessment regulator “PARAKH”, covering more than five thousand students in all seven zones including Marwah and Warwan of the District.
The survey aimed to identify areas requiring improvement in learning targeting school students up to the block level for grade 3rd, 6th and 9th as it will act as precursor to the Education Ministry’s annual National Achievement Survey.
This is the first survey conducted by the Performance Assessment, Review and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development (PARAKH), an organisation under the NCERT with the main aim to bring the school boards on a common platform.
SEAS (State Education Achievement Survey) 2023 has been designed to enhance learning standards for students in Classes 3, 6 and 9. Operating at the block level, this survey encompasses a comprehensive range of competencies, spanning the foundational, preparatory, and middle stages of education.
Pertinent to mention here that this survey was conducted in 280 Govt., as well as private schools across the district Kishtwar and a similar number of teachers including B.Ed candidates were deployed as Field Investigators.
Chief Education Officer KishtwarPrehladBhagatji on the request of DIET Kishtwar also appointed several observers in all zones including at cluster level for the transparent and smooth conduct of SEAS-2023. Besides that district and zonal/Block Coordinators were also appointed and deployed by DIET Kishtwar. The survey was conducted peacefully and in a transparent manner after following all the SOPs of the authorities.
