DC Directs executing agencies to meet deadline

Ramban: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Baseer-Ul-HaqChaudharyon Saturday chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress on National Highway (NH-44) Four Laning project from Nashri to Banihal and Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail link Project (USBRL) works being executed in the district.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramban, Mohita Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic National Highway, Ramban, RohitBaksotra, ADC HarbansLal Sharma, ACR Giasul- Haq, PD, NHAI, Parshotam Kumar, SDMs and senior officers from Northern Railways and other concerned attended the meeting.
Taking a comprehensive project-wise review of NH44 including tunnels, viaducts and bridges being constructed from Nashri to Banihal, the Deputy Commissioner directed PD PIU NHAI, Ramban to expedite the pace of progress to meet the deadline fixed by the Government for the completion of prestigious national project which will provide smooth and hassle free all weather connectivity to commuters.
The Deputy Commissioner passed on-the-spot directions to all concerned to clear all bottlenecks hindering the pace of progress.
Responding to the issues about maintenance of vulnerable locations includingDhalwas, Dongipuli, Mehar, Cafeteria Morh, Seri, Marog, Anokhi Fall, Digdol, KhooniNallah, Panthyal, Magarkote, Mompasi, and Rampari, the Deputy Commissioner passed necessary directions to officers of NHAI to take all necessary measures for surface stabilization and to keep provision of men and machinery in advance for clearance of landslides, debris during upcoming winter season.
The DC also issued directions to resolve the issues regarding installation of crash barriers, parapets and improvement of riding surface area from Nashri to Dhalwas and Mehar to Cafeteria Morh and other vulnerable locations.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the overall physical progress of work on the USBRL Railway project in the district Ramban. He also issued directions to resolve the pending issues regarding land compensation, collateral damages related issues of the public.
The Deputy Commissioner assured that the District Administration shall extend full cooperation to executing agencies for timely completion of national projects.
