DC Kishtwar reviews arrangements for Urs Shah Asrar-ud-Din Sahib (RA)

Kishtwar: Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, DrDevanshYadavon Friday convened a meeting of all the concerned district officers of line departments to review the arrangements for Urs of Shah Asrar-Ud-Din Sahib (RA) scheduled on November 10, 2023.
The meeting was attended by SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Ahmed Poswal, Sham Lal; ADC, Inderjeet Singh Parihar; ACR Varunjeet Singh Charak; CEO Kishtwar Development Authority, Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma; Administrator J&K Waqf Board Kishtwar (Assistant Commissioner Panchayat) ZakirHussainWani; DFO Kishtwar Sub DivisonSagar Singh, ACD Kishtwar, Manoj Kumar; AD FCS & CA Shafqat Keen, EO Municipal Council Kishtwar, NinadSen; CMO Dr M Y Mir, Representatives of Religious organisation besides others.
During the meeting, the chair reviewed the different arrangements, including provision of accommodation for devotees, power supply/water supply, firewood, ration, LPG, Sanitation, Security, Medical care, transportation, fire tender and overall traffic management and passed a slew of directions to the concerned.
SSP Kishtwar assured that a comprehensive security arrangements will be placed during the Urs Days.
The DC directed XEN Jal Shakti to ensure availability of sufficient drinking water for devotees/Ziareens at the shrines of AstanBala, AstanPani and other places from Nov 8 to Nov11, 2023 with backup provision of water tankers.
The CEO Kishtwar Development Authority and EO Municipal Council Kishtwar were also directed to go for repair and replacement of the non-functional street lights in the town and the adjoining areas of the shrines and in the Chowgan ground for hassle free movement of devotees. Cleanliness around both the shrines and lime lining of the roads leading to the shrines was also stressed upon by the chair.
Further, ARTO, DTI and police administration were directed to devise a proper transport plan viz. arrangement of additional buses for smooth to and fro movement of pilgrims, management of Traffic and Parking of vehicles.
JPDCL Authorities Kishtwarwere directed to ensure uninterrupted Power Supply at both the shrines and places of stay of Ziareens and also provide a gen set.
The Deputy Commissioner also emphasised upon the Tehsildar and DIO Kishtwar to establish an Information Centre at the venue site Chowgan Ground Kishtwar for the convenience of devotees.
Necessary directions were also given to the FCS& CA, Health and Fire tender and emergency Service for efficient and necessary arrangements.
