KVS Jammu region hosts 52nd KVS National Sports Meet 2023-24

Jammu : KVS Jammu Region is hosting the 52nd National Sports Meet 2023-24 from 2nd November to 6th November.
More than 1300 students and 200 escort teachers from 25 Regions of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan have reached Jammu to participate in the National Sports Meet.
Boxing, Hockey, Chess and Kabaddi will be conducted by the region at five different venues: chess – Under 14, Under 17 &Under 19 girls at KV 1 Jammu, Boxing U-14 U-17 &U-19 girls at KV Miran Sahib, Hockey girls U-14, U- 17 at KV Bantalab, Kabaddi Girls U-14 at KV 2 Jammu and Kabaddi I- 17 girls at KV Sunjuwan.
The grand inaugural ceremony was held on Thursday at K KHakku Stadium Jammu. Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Guest of Honour of the function was Anand Jain, IGP Jammu. The other guests included NagendraGoyal, Deputy Commissioner, KVS RO Jammu, Assistant Commissioners, Islam Khan, Anil Kumar and Hari Singh besides the Principals from different KendriyaVidyalayas and other institutions of Jammu region.
Divisional Commissioner inaugural ceremony were the spectacular march past and the splendid cultural extravaganza which left the audience spellbound. More than 300 participants displayed their talent in different Cultural Programmes. The students presented the welcome song, Ganesh Vandana, aerobics and Dogri folk dance all of which mesmerised everyone.
Divisional Commissioner in his address expressed his great delight in getting the chance to host the NSM in Jammu and said that such events develop a feeling of oneness and unity among children. He assured the whole hearted support of Jammu Region to the participants and the escorts .After the inaugural address he declared the National Sports Meet OPEN. Islam, Khan, Assistant Commissioner, KVS RO Jammu proposed the vote of thanks.
Sports has always been an integral part of KVS Curriculum. It not only provides students with an arena to display their sporting skills but also an ideal platform for exchanging India’s diverse cultures. Students belonging to different states come together under the same roof to compete, share views, make memories and much more.
Jammu Region is all set to play the genial host to the sports stars of KVS. The next five days are going to be a truly exciting experience not only to the sports lovers but to all the spectators in equal measure when players vie with each other with mettle and grit.
