Baramulla : A 5-year-old Baby was resuscitated by a team of Doctors and Paramedics at Associated Hospital, Govt Medical College (GMC) in Baramulla district of North Kashmir.
Officials said that, “a female baby patient reported to emergency at around 6:11 pm with alleged H/O Ingestion of some poisonous substance (most likely organophosphoros subs) with unknown quantity at her home.”
They said that the patient was recieved in a state of drowsiness and gasping, and without wasting anytime resuscitation was started and gastric lavage was done.”
“During lavage patient went into a CP Arrest. Resuscitation was continued with Bag & Mask ventilation and patient was intubated & CPR/treatment was continued as per standard protocol. As patient was successfuly resuscitated 108 ALS ambulance was called, and with active support from 108 incharge officer namely Mr. Hussain, 108 ambulance reached in a short span of time,” officials said, adding that patient again went in CP arrest while shifting inside ambulance, following which active resuscitation was again started by team of doctors and paramedic staff.
Soon after that, the patient was successfully resuscitated and shifted to Children Hospital Bemina for ICU care and further management.
Meanwhile, a top official in the GMC Baramulla said: “On the behalf of administration Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla, i congratulate all colleagues who worked hard as a team, and resuscitated baby in emergency hours.
