Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has arrested two militant associates of Al-Badr militant outfit from Shalteng area of Srinagar.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that during late night checking at a security checkpoint along Shalteng Bridge by the joint parties of Police Station Parimpora and Police Component Mujgund, two militant associates identified as Yawar Rashid S/o Abdul Rashid Dar and Basit Nabi S/o Ghulam Nabi Bhat R/o Sader Bala, Bandipora belonging to Al-Badr militant outfit were arrested, adding therein that during search, incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including 1 Pistol, 2 Pistol Magazines, 28 Pistol rounds and 1 Hand Grenade was recovered from their possession.
Police in the concluding para of it’s statement said that it has also registered a case vide FIR No. 159/2023 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Parimpora and initiated further investigation into the case.
