Rajouri: To foster transparency and empower the citizens of the district, the District Administration Rajouri, under the overall guidance of Deputy Commissioner VikasKundal, on Wednesday hosted an interactive session as part of Vigilance Awareness Week.
The event was presided over by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajiv Kumar Khajuria.
The event brought together a diverse group of participants, sharing their views and calling for an effective strategy to combat the menace of corruption. The attendees included members of the civil society, representatives from media organisations, auditors, leaders of local business establishments and Right to Information (RTI) activists. Their collective presence and participation were a testament to the shared commitment to build a more transparent and honest society.
In his address, the Additional Deputy Commissioner emphasized the pivotal role that transparency and empowered citizenship can play in the fight against corruption. He reminded everyone present that transparency is not the sole responsibility of the government; it is a shared duty of every citizen.
Emphasizing the significance of open dialogue, the Additional Deputy Commissioner called on participants to actively engage and collaborate in the collective mission of achieving a corruption-free society.
He further highlighted the transformative potential of digital services, stressing that these not only enhance transparency but also empower citizens by offering efficient, time-bound solutions to their needs, ultimately contributing to a responsive administration.
He also provided a comprehensive overview of the grievance redressal mechanisms of the Government, highlighting their effectiveness in addressing public complaints. This initiative aims to promote transparency, accountability, and citizen trust, fostering a culture of responsive governance and efficient complaint resolution.

It offered a platform for open, honest discussions and acted as an inspiration for individuals to assume an active role in promoting transparency and accountability within their communities.
The success of this session underscores the potential for positive change when citizens, media, auditors, business leaders, and RTI activists collaborate in the pursuit of a corruption-free society.
The District Administration Rajouri, under able leadership of Deputy Commissioner VikasKundal, remains resolute in its commitment to these efforts. It eagerly anticipates future initiatives and collaborations that empower citizens and promote transparency, paving the way for a brighter and more accountable future.
