Bandipora: In a bid to promote economic expansion and industrial progress in the district, the District Industries Centre Bandipora sponsored 576 cases engaging more than 1500 youth in different employment ventures over the past four years.
The Industries department in Bandipora in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora is on the forefront to promote a mindset change among the youth to go for business enterprises as a means of employment.
The department attracted investment by offering subsidies and creating a conducive environment of business for local youth.
A senior official of Industries Department Bandipora informed that over the past 04 years the department has sponsored 576 cases engaging 1512 youth.
He informed that Rs. 15 crore have been disbursed among the local youth to start their own business units.
The department has taken various remarkable steps in the past 04 years with a key goal to create job opportunities, which contribute to improved living standards for the local population.
A young and determined beneficiary of DIC Bandipora, ShahidaKhanam started her journey with a vision of establishing her cutting and tailoring unit and dreamt of creating job opportunities and contributing to her community’s economic growth.
However, she faced various challenges, including limited access to capital.
Recognizing the potential of Shahida’s idea, the industries department offered her financial support which allowed her to secure the capital required to establish cutting and tailoring centre in her locality.
Shahida not only cherished her dream of establishing her own cutting and tailoring unit but also provided employment to other local girls.
She is a shining example of how Government schemes empower individuals to achieve their entrepreneurial dreams, create jobs, and drive economic growth in their communities.
Shahida also serves as an inspiration to others, showing that with determination and the right support, anyone can transform their entrepreneurial aspirations into reality.
