Jammu : Consequent to numerous queries being received by JKCA from individuals and business houses, JKCA has issued a press note clarifying the involvement of the Association with relation to Legends Cricket League being played in Jammu during November.
As per the Press Release, “Legends Cricket League is a private League and JKCA has no involvement in its conduct. It is like any other League being played locally or in other parts of the country which are not recognised by the BCCI or JKCA. Like other leagues, the Legend Cricket League has also its own revenue model.”
According to the BCCI rules, the player has to quit Indian Cricket completely to be eligible to play in private leagues or in other league. Indian Cricket includes international cricket, IPL and domestic cricket.
Certain media persons are also portraying the Legends Cricket League as an international event. It is clarified that it is not an international event as it is not recognised by the ICC.
However, the cricket fans in Jammu will be able to watch their favourite stars of yester years playing the league cricket in Jammu which includes foreign cricketers as well since only ex cricketers can participate in Legends Cricket League.
