DHEW, Mission Shakti Kupwara organise Workshop on POCSO, PC PNDT Act at KGBV Gund Chabootra

Kupwara: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW)- Mission Shakti Kupwaraon Tuesdayorganised a one day workshop on POCSO, PCT PNDT Act under the aegis of ‘BetiBachao, BetiPadhao’ at KGBV GundChabootra, Langate.
District Development Council Chairman Irfan Sultan Panditpori was the chief guest on the occasion.
In his speech, the chairman DDC said that Girl education is very important for a peaceful society.
The Zonal Educational Officer said that educating a girl means educating the whole society. So if society’s progress is concerned we must bridge the gap between men and women, he added.
District Mission Coordinator (DHEW Kupwara), KhalidaYasin highlighted different types of offences and punishments under the act and encouraged the audience to be more practical in approach relating to the offence under the prescribed law.
She further added that ‘BetiBachao, BetiPadhao’ is not only a slogan but the responsibility of everyone.
Gender Specialist DHEW Kupwara, Shagufta gave a detailed explanation of POCSO and PC PNDT ACT.
Warden KGBV, Jamsheeda appreciated team DHEW- Mission Shakti Kupwara for organising such a programme.
Educational Kits were distributed among the students by chairman District Development Council Kupwara.
