Vigilance Awareness Week begins on high note across Jammu Division

Pledge ceremonies held to commit support to fight against corruption

Jammu: The Vigilance Awareness Week started on a high note across Jammu Division as the district administrations, Government Departments and Educational Institutions hosted pledge taking ceremonies to commit their support and determination to fight against the menace of Corruption.

AT DODA: The District Administration Doda marked the commencement of Vigilance Awareness Week with a pledge-taking ceremony held at the DC office and various government offices throughout the district. In a simple gathering at the DC office, Deputy Commissioner Doda, VisheshMahajan, administered the pledge to the officers and officials. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of corruption on society. Similar pledge ceremonies resonated with enthusiasm and zeal across all government offices in the district.

At Rajouri: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, VikasKundal, commenced the Vigilance Awareness Week with a commitment to integrity by taking the pledge against corruption. The week will witness a plethora of activities to be organised to reinforce the message of “zero tolerance towards corruption.” These activities include displaying posters and placards conveying the importance of eradicating corruption in every office throughout the district, conducting signature campaigns, and hosting awareness workshops, among others. Among the others present were ADC, Rajiv Kumar Khajuria; ADC Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal; AC Defence, SaleemQuershi besides other officers, officials attended the event.

At Ramban: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam administered an integrity pledge to the officers and officials of various departments functioning in the District Administrative Complex to observe “Vigilance Awareness Week, 2023” from October 30, 2023. ADDC Rajinder Sharma; ADC HarbansLal, ACR, Gias-ul-Haq, CPO, Dr. KasturiLal, CMO, Dr Kamal Zadu and other senior officers, officials were present on the occasion. Similar pledge taking ceremonies were also organized at Sub-Division and Tehsil level besides in other offices and institutions of the all departments across the district.

At Kishtwar: The official launch of Vigilance Awareness Week in District Kishtwar took place as Deputy Commissioner Dr. DevanshYadav administered the integrity pledge to officers and officials at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex Kishtwar. ADDC Kishtwar, Sham Lal; ADC Kishtwar, Inderjeet Singh Parihar; ACR Varunjeet Singh Charak; PO ICDS, Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma; Joint Director Planning, MohdIqbal;ACP, ACD, DPO, TehsildarHQ,and several other district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion. Integrity pledges were also administered at GDC Kishtwar, where students were sensitized about the detrimental effects of corruption. Similar events were held in other government offices and institutions, demonstrating a collective commitment to maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethics.

At Udhampur: The District Administration Udhampur conducted a pledge-taking ceremony under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai. Additional District Development Commissioner, Ghan Sham Singh administered the pledge to the officers and officials. They vowed to uphold principles of integrity, transparency, accountability, and fairness in their work. Furthermore, they committed to promoting good governance and ethical business practices. In attendance during the event were Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr. Ranjeet Singh, Kotwal, DIO NIC, Anish Sharma and several other Officers and Officials.

Youth Services & Sports: In connection with the observance of vigilance Awareness Week 2023 Joint Director Youth Services & Sports,.Suram Chand Sharma administered integrity pledge to the employees of Youth Services & Sports Department at Joint Directorate Office Gandhi Nagar Jammu.
Joint Director Youth Services & Sports highlighted the importance of celebration of this week with the theme ” Say no to corruption commit to the Nation”. He urged the employees of the department to uphold integrity in public governance and to support the fight against corruption.

Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu: In view of “Vigilance Awareness Week” with the theme “Say No to Corruption; Commit to the Nation,” the Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu DrNaseemJavaidChowdhary highlighted the purpose of celebrating “Vigilance Awareness Week” and said that various community based awareness programme are being held in the subordinate offices of Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu to educate Government Officers/Officials and citizens about the detrimental effects of corruption and ways to combat it. All the Officers/Officials of Directorate of Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu took pledge to stand against corruption.

Directorate of Health Services Jammu: Vigilance Awareness week with the theme “Say No to Corruption; Commit to the Nation”, commenced with a pledge taking ceremony at Directorate of Health Services Jammu, here on Monday.
Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma along with Dy. Director Dentistry Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Dy. Director Planning Deepa Sharma, Chief Accounts Officer, Deepshikha Sharma, Assistant Director Schemes Dr. Sanjay Turki and all officers and officials of the Directorate took part in the Integrity pledge.

JKSPDC: The JKSPDC took an organisational pledge to eradicate corruption. In widely attended integrity pledge taking events all over J&K, employees of JKSPDC right from power houses in remote areas like Karnah to the Corporate office joined the nation in observing Vigilance Awareness Week. During the week-long activities, the organization plans to organise public outreach programs at all levels of the organization with stakeholders to generate awareness against the corruption and its ill effects for the organization, individual and society at large. JKSPDC also plans to finalise its Vigilance Manual by the close of the Vigilance Awareness Week.

GDC Vijaypur: Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of GDC Vijaypurinaugurated Vigilance Awareness Week 2023 by taking the Integrity Pledge on the theme “Say no to corruption; commit to Nation”. Principal of the College along with all the faculty members participated in the pledge taking ceremony which was administered by Dr. GunjeetMahiwal, Lecturer, Department of Education.
