Srinagar : Peaceful situation in Jammu and Kashmir is giving pain to enemies as they have been making efforts to revive militancy, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh said on Monday.
Speaking to media after inauguration of Model Police Station Mattan Anantnag named after slain DySP Himayun Muzzamil, DGP Dilbagh Singh said perpetrators of violence are unable to digest peace in J&K.
“Peace always gives pain to enemies and it will continue to give them more pain,” he said , adding that only those can feel the pain, who lost their loved ones in the last 30 years and now are very happy with peaceful J&K.
He said that Srinagar and Pulwama incidents are the frustration of the elements, who don’t digest peace in J&K as their mission of the last 30 years is getting finished.
“Such incidents do happen sometimes and it is only because our neighbours are unable to digest peace and development in J&K,” DGP said.
“Our efforts are on to stop such incidents fully and whosoever will be involved in the incidents won’t be spared at all,” DGP said.
He said that a renovated building of police station Mattan was inaugurated and named after slain DySP Himayun Muzzamil Model Police Station Mattan who laid down his life during an encounter in Kokernag Anantnag last month.
“From day one, when he laid the sacrifice, police had been trying to attach Humayun’s name with some part of Anantnag district and today we have done it. Himayun didn’t have a long service but he never shied away from his responsibility. He was injured in the encounter and despite our efforts we couldn’t evacuate him on time,” he said.
“Before succumbing, DySP Himayun spoke to his father and wife and despite our strenuous efforts we couldn’t save him as sometimes the ground situation remains difficult,” he added.
Humayun’s father who is retired IGP and other police officers along civil officers were present on the occasion
