Drug peddler arrested in Kulgam,; Psychotropic substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Monday arrested a drug peddler and also recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Kulgam during patrolling, intercepted a suspicious person at Okay area identified as Javaid Ahmad ZargarS/o Gull MohdZargarR/o Okay, Kulgam who on seeing the police party tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully by the alert police party and during recovered 12 bottles of Codeine Phosphate from his possession.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 182/2023 has been registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Kulgam and also initiated further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and assured people that it will act tough against the criminals as per law.
