Srinagar: Commissioner Secretary Food Civil Services and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Zubair Ahmad, on Friday visited Ganderbal and chaired a Public Darbar at Mini Secretariat to take stock of issues and concerns of common masses.

On the occasion, PRI representatives raised several concerns and development issues pertaining to their areas including CT scan facility at District Hospital, widening of Pandach Beehama road, bridges, unscheduled power cuts, LariPreng water supply scheme, additional ration stores in several areas, road widening and proper disposal of Waste at Tulamulla, beautification of town, removal of encroachments and other issues.
Addressing on the occasion, Commissioner Secretary underscored the significance of public outreach camps saying that these gatherings provide a platform for citizens to voice their grievances and for the government to expedite their resolution through the appropriate channels.
Reaffirming government’s commitment towards development and welfare of the people, Zubair Ahmad assured the participants that their concerns would be thoroughly examined and redressed in a time bound manner. He impressed upon the government officials to remain accessible to the public and fixed timelines for completion of various vital development projects especially pertaining to Jal Shakti, R&B and PMGSY.
Commissioner Secretary enquired about ration distribution in the district and was apprised that the ration is distributed as per the quota with good quality. The locals demanded additional quota of ration under all categories besides raising the issue of giving AAY ration cards to several non-eligible households. Similarly, the Executive Engineer JKPDCL informed that sufficient number of buffer transformers are already available in the district.
Replying to unscheduled power cuts in the district, Zubair Ahmad appealed the general masses to make judicious use of electricity during winters so that such unscheduled curtailments are avoided and transformers are saved from overloading which is main cause of unscheduled power cuts.
Speaking on the occasion, DC urged upon the PRIs and locals to participate in other campaigns like Swachta Hi Sewa and NashaMukt campaign with zeal and enthusiasm.
