Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested eight (8) accused for being involved in illegal mining of minerals in Tangmarg and Sheeri areas of district Baramulla and also seized eight (8) vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Baramulla and SDPO Tangmarg assisted by SHO Police Station Sheeri and SHO Police Station Tangmarg seized eight (8) vehiclces (7 Tippers & 1 Tractor) and arrested eight (8) drivers identified as Mohd Amin GanieS/o AbWahab resident of Mirchipora, Zahid Ahmad Sheikh S/o Ab Rashid R/o Treran, Wali Mohd Parray S/o Gh Ahmad R/o Drooru, Arif Ahmad Malik S/o Mohd Maqbool R/o Tumberhama, Gh Mohd Malik S/o GH Rasool Malik R/o Kicthama, Bilal Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Ahmad Dar R/o Khadniyar, Rayees Ahmed DAR S/o GH Qadir DAR R/o Khadniyar and Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar S/o GH Hassan DAR R/o Sheeri.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police said that it has registered an FIR against all the above named accused involved in the commission of crime under relevant sections of law in Police Stations of Sheeri and Tangmarg respectively and initiated further investigations into the case
