Jammu: Police on Thursday said that it has booked a criminal under PIT NDPS Act in Jammu city.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said that an input was received at Police Statiob Akhnoor through reliable sources regarding one Drug Peddler namely Vishram Das alias Tyagi Baba S/O Laxman Das R/O Jio pota Ghat Teh Akhnoor Distt. Jammu following which a special police team of Police Station Akhnoor led by SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Sharma and assisted by SHO Police Station Akhnoor Inspr Zaheer Mushtaq raided the suspected place and arrested the above said drug peddler.
Police in it’s above referred statement further said that the said accused person was a notorious criminal and was involved in many cases of drug peddling and dealing in narcotics, adding therein thatb also a warrant of arrest was issued against the said accused by Divisonal commissioner Jammu. Police in it’s above quoted statement also said that in compliance to the directions of Divisonal commissioner Jammu isuerd under Prevention of Illicit Traffic of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1988 (PITNDPS) the accused person has been shifted to District Jail kathua.
