Drug peddler arrested in Awantipora, contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Awantipora and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police Party led by SHO Police Station Awantipora under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora arrested one drug peddler identified as Aashiq Hussain Bhat S/o Mohd Ramzan Bhat R/o Chersoo alongwith 8.3Kgs of Bung Chura at Chersoo, adding therein that the said accused has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that Police has accordingly registered the case under relevant section of law at Police Station Awantipora and initiated further investigation , Police
in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
