Dharamshala: Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Youth & Sports Affairs Anurag Singh Thakur on Sunday participated in the Amrit Kalash Yatra organised at Thakur Degree College, Dhaliyara in Dehra Assembly constituency of Kangra district under the Meri Mati Mera Desh programme.
On this occasion, a large number of local people were present to participate in the Amrit Kalash Yatra along with Anurag Thakur. During this, Anurag Thakur also met the children of DPS School located at Dhaliara and informed them about the Meri Maati, Mera Desh program being celebrated under the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.
While interacting directly with the people during the program, the Union Minister said, “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, started by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the country’s independence, was celebrated with great pomp and show. In the last two years, the entire country Lakhs of programs were organized in which crores of people participated.”
He said, “One of those programs was the tricolor in every house. You will be very happy to know that in Jammu and Kashmir, where the tricolor used to be insulted during the Congress rule, today also the tricolor is proudly displayed in every street and locality from Lal Chowk. It is waved. It is Modi ji’s government which has abolished Article 370 and 35A from Jammu and Kashmir forever.”
Further giving information about the autonomous organization named MY Bharat i.e. My Young India, recently passed by the Cabinet, Shri Thakur said, “Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has called for making India a developed nation in the next 25 years. For this We have to create a team of volunteers who can work with service spirit and dedication in every field. For this, we are going to create an autonomous organization named MY BHARAT. Through the platform, our youth can connect through digital medium. Through this medium, the capacity of the youth will be built by connecting them with different programs. Leadership skills, programmatic skills, life skills will be given in the skills. On October 31, Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate this platform, after which crores of youth of the country will be trained. The aim is to connect the youth with this platform. We will run a campaign in schools and colleges across the country to connect the youth of 15 to 29 years of age.”
Further talking about Amrit Kalash Yatra and Meri Maati Mera Desh programme, Thakur said, “These programs show how much the Bharatiya Janata Party respects and honors the army personnel. Amrit Kalash Yatra is just a matter of pouring soil. It is not a program but people’s emotions are attached to it. Under this Amrit Kalash Yatra, soil collected from more than 6 lakh villages of the country will reach the block where Amrit Vatika will be constructed in each block. From the block this soil will go to New Delhi where this Amrit Udyan and memorial will be constructed near India Gate with soil which will inspire the coming generations.”
Shri Thakur further discussed in detail about Khelo India and Fit India Movement launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, highlighting the improved performance of Indian players in recent sports events. He appealed to the youth, “At least give half an hour a day to fitness. Dose of fitness is half an hour every day.”
Anurag Thakur further requested the youth to stay away from drugs and bad habits and inspired them to use their energies in nation building.
Shri Thakur further told the youth, “Today India is progressing in every field. We are world leaders in many fields today. Be it startups to space or science to sports, our youth are waving their flag everywhere. He said that today more than 10,000 Atal Tinkering Labs are working in the country. We made two indigenous Covid vaccines in record time. Today our UPI is going to be global. What no country in the world could do in space, India did it. We Not only did we become the first country to go near the South Pole of the Moon, but we also named the point where our Chandrayaan landed as Shiv Shakti Point.” Shri Thakur further said that today our India has risen from being the largest phone importing country to the second largest phone manufacturing country. And this change happened in just 5 years. We are number three in the world in manufacturing automobiles.
Our economy is the fastest growing large economy in the world. Today we are the fifth largest economy in the world and will soon become the fourth and third largest. Most of the generic medicines are manufactured in India. We are number two in steel making.
We are also number one in milk production. Today India is making rapid progress in the manufacturing of defense products. From big ships to AK-47 and INSAS rifles or bullet proof jackets to Boeing aircraft, we are making or will make all of them in India.
This year we have manufactured defense products worth more than Rs 1 lakh crore within the country. There are immense possibilities for the youth today. We just need to move forward with positive thinking.”
