“While the causes of stress and anxiety are not always the same in all cases but differ from case to case, the teachers in the campuses of schools, colleges and universities mostly know the causes of stress and anxiety developing among youth at an alarming pace in Jammu & Kashmir”.

Lt Governor Manoj Sinha just two days back talked about stress and anxiety at no other place than Kashmir University for whom University is Centre Of Excellence in Education and Research. Though Lt Governor during his address to a mega event at Inner Space Centre at Kashmir University has rightly said that stress is a social issue but it is an irrefutable fact that stress can neither be reduced by civil society groups and religious preachers alone but the teachers in the educational institutions and more so in the universities can also play a key role in the reducing the intensity of the increasing spread of the stress and anxiety developing among youth mostly in campuses of colleges, schools and universities. While the causes of stress and anxiety are not always the same in all cases but differ from case to case, the teachers in the campuses of schools, colleges and universities mostly know the causes of stress and anxiety developing among youth at an alarming pace in Jammu & Kashmir.Though general perception of the majority of populations in Jammu & Kashmir like the people of other states and union territories of the country is that unemployment is bigger cause of stress and anxiety developing among youth at an alarming pace in Jammu & Kashmir but it is also an irrefutable fact that stress is more intensely developing among youth in the campuses of schools, colleges and universities due to fast changing life styles and comparatively very less among the unemployed youth due to reducing job opportunities both in the Government and as well as in the private business houses.

“Though Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has very rightly said that youth would come out of the phases of stress and anxieties only if they rediscover their passion and contribute in nation building with complete dedication but it also a fact that the onus of creating a congenial atmosphere for youth to help them rediscover their passions in the campuses of schools, colleges and universities lies on the Government and more so on teachers in Schools, Colleges and Universities. Once youth find a congenial atmosphere for rediscovering their passions in the campuses of schools, colleges and universities, they will themselves look for engagement and involvement in the process of national building as stressed by the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha”.

While the civil society groups and religious preachers could embark on awareness campaigns on religious and social ramifications of stress and anxiety to imbibe the spirits of courage among the youth in combating the challenges of life, the onus of generating the spirits of fighting the challenges of life among youth without taking the stress and anxiety on their minds and hearts lies on the teachers in the campus of schools, colleges and universities. Though Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has very rightly said that youth would come out of the phases of stress and anxieties only if they rediscover their passion and contribute in nation building with complete dedication but it also a fact that the onus of creating a congenial atmosphere for youth to help them rediscover their passions in the campuses of schools, colleges and universities lies on the Government and more so on teachers in Schools, Colleges and Universities.
