Jammu: Under the banner of Govt Employees Joint Action Forum (GEJAF) & Employees Joint Consultative Committee top leaders of top employee bodies of Jammu & Kashmir led by Chairman Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) Aijaz Ahmad Khan at a joint press conference here on Friday sought an early meeting with Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for placing before him pending demands of the employees of Jammu & Kashmir Government over which they alleged authorities are showing “indifferent attitude” towards them.
The leaders said “What not to talk for; Salary is untimely, GPF is not being paid to the retired employees and pendency is in months. Even the GPF is not timely paid to the in service employees”. They said that, “There is in -ordinate and uncalled for delay in release of all retirement benefits like leave salary & gratuity. No interest is being credited to the retired employees on leave salary and gratuity for the delayed time period. Employees are limbs and organs of a Govt. and Govt should take due care of them.” They made it clear that employees may not be forced to come on roads for getting their legitimate dues. In a general house meeting held the previous day, they have called for symbolic peaceful protests simultaneously both at Jammu and Sringar Press clubs on November 4 at 11 am. The leaders appealed the employees and their followers to make peaceful protests a success to send a message of grievance to LG administration, Saying therein “LG administration should not leave any reason to its employees to intensify struggle.” They also said that besides the pending demands of the Government the demands of different daily wage unions for regularisation of daily rated workers are also on their list of demands, Stating therein that “Hundreds of daily wagers have either crossed age limit or have left for eternal world without seeing the dreams of the regularisation fulfilled”, adding “All daily wagers shouldn’t suffer merely on this pretext that few of them may not have been appointed by the competent authorities.” They appealed Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to spare time for meeting with them for discussion on the pending demands of the employees. The demands put for consideration of the Lt Governor by them are: All the pending cases of GPF be cleared without any delay and there should be no pendency for future, Extension of all the retirement benefits like leave salary, gratuity and pension should not be delayed , urging therein further that disbursement of hard earned dues of the retiring employees should not be delayed besides ensuring disbursement of timely salary to employees by 1st of every month, restoration of old pension scheme at the earliest and clearance of the Pending SRO 43 cases, implementation of five day week to all employees working outside civil Secretariat, Regularisation of all eligible daily wagers without further delay, Implementation of 7 th Pay Commission report to the remaining PSUs. Those present at the Joint press conference include Government employees Joint Action Forum (GEJAF) & Employees Joint Consultative Committee leaders Sushil Sudan, Aijaz Ahma Khan, Ganesh Khajuria, Suresh Sharma , Subhash Verma, Gurmeet Singh, Kamaldeep Singh, Balvadher Sharma Javaid Ahmed Akhon Shabir Ahmed Langoo and Rahmatullah Khan. and they all severely criticised the Jammu & Kashmir Govt for indifferent attitude towards its employees.
