Horticulture, JKRLM launches horticulture training prog for women in Thathri, Doda

Doda : Department of Horticulture Doda in collaboration with JKRLM Doda launched a comprehensive training program for women in Thathri on Thursday under the leadership of Manager Horticulture, Bharat Bhushan Pangotra.
The event saw turnout of over 50 women from various regions within Block Thathri and was graced by the presence of BPM JKNRLM Thathri, Abdul Roof and other distinguished officers and officials from the Horticulture Department.
During the program, Manager Horticulture provided an insightful overview of the processing sector and underscored the vital role of food processing. He placed significant emphasis on the need for processing fruits and vegetables to mitigate post-harvest losses through the creation of value-added products.
He highlighted that this sector not only offers employment opportunities for unemployed youth but also plays a pivotal role in empowering women economically, providing crucial nutritional support, and addressing nutritional deficits in underserved areas.
The program was conducted under the overall supervision of Chief Horticulture Officer, Rakesh Kotwal.
