Jammu: Police on Thursday said that it has arrested one drug peddler in Janipur area of Jammu city and also recovered 10.40 grams of heroin from his possession.
In a statement issued on Thursday said that 10.40 grams of heroin have been recovered from an accused during patrolling duty at upper Roop Nagar in Janipur area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Janipur.
Stating that a police team of Police Station Janipur led by SDPO West Vikram Singh assisted by SHO Police Station Janipur Inspr. Sikander Singh while on patrolling duty rounded up one suspect and during search recovered 10.40 grams of heroin was from his possession, Police in it’s statement further said that in this regard a case FIR No.114/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Janipur and accused was also also arrested and identified as :- Deepak Khajuria S/o Lt. Som Raj Khajuria R/o Upper Krishna Nagar Jammu A/P Bantalab.
Police in it’s statement further said that further investigation of the cases is going on, adding therein that Jammu police is working intensively to uproot the chains of drug supply in the region and thorough questioning of the accused is going on to know the origin of the drugs supply chain.
