Srinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah Monday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for return of peace to valley after Navratri Pujas took place at Historic Sharda Temple at LoC in north Kashmir Kupwara district.
After the reconstruction of Historical Sharda Temple in Teethwal on the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district the temple was virtually inaugurated by Home Minister of India Amit Shah earlier this year on 23rd March. Scores of pilgrims since it was reopened visit this place to offer prayers.
The reopening has also led to the revival of pilgrimage tourism in the border district. From different parts of the country, pilgrims visit there.
For the first time since partition in 1947 Navratri Puja of Sharad-Navratri took place in the presence of a large number of devotees at the LoC in Teethwal recently.
Meanwhile, Home Minister of India Amit Shah called himself fortunate to reopen the temple virtually and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing peace to the valley.
“It is a matter of profound spiritual significance that for the first time since 1947, the Navratri pujas have been held in the historic Sharda Temple in Kashmir this year. Earlier in the year the Chaitra Navratri Puja was observed and now the mantras of the Shardiya Navratri puja resound in the shrine. I was fortunate to reopen the temple on 23rd March 2023 after restoration,” the Home Minister posted on X formerly known as Twitter.
“This not only signifies the return of peace in the valley but also marks the rekindling of our nation’s spiritual and cultural flame under the leadership of PM @narendramodi Ji,” he posted.
It may be recalled that normal activities including the tourist arrival have seen significant improvement following the renewed ceasefire pact between the two armies of India and Pakistan
