DC Poonch reviews progress under District Capex Plan 2023-24

DC Directs officers to ensure 70% expenditure by December

Poonch: The District Development Commissioner, Yasin M. Choudhary convened a meeting of all Sectoral/District Officers at the conference hall of the DC Office Complex Poonch to review the progress of works taken up under the District Capex Plan 2023-24 and to expedite the pace of developmental projects.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Poonch, Sandesh Kumar Sharma, Chief Planning Officer Poonch, Maqsood Ahmed, CEO PDA, Dr.Mohd.Tanveer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Abid Hussain Shah, SDM Mendhar, Jahangir Khan, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, District Social Welfare Officer, Mohinder Paul, CEO Education, Bishamber Dass, CMO, Dr.Anees Altaf Nabi, XENs beside other concerned officers.
During the meeting, the physical and financial status of the works was assessed, highlighting the achievements of the physical targets till date.
It was reported that a total of 1929 works were planned under the district capex, out of which 1755 works have been tendered, 1466 works have been allotted, 778 works have commenced, and 209 works have been successfully completed.
To ensure timely execution of projects, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to aim for 70% expenditure of the approved allocation by December 2023.
Emphasizing the importance of efficiency, he urged for an expedited tendering process and minimal wastage of time.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the executive engineers to maximize the utilization of funds allocated under the Central Sponsored schemes, enabling the completion of more projects within the designated time frame.
Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need to initiate all pending works promptly to achieve the set targets within the specified time frame.
Meanwhile, discussions were held regarding a month-long Swachhata Special Campaign 3.0. The campaign aims at improving overall cleanliness of government offices and enhancing public experience, therefore special attention will be given to field and outstation offices responsible for service delivery or having public interface.
The Deputy Commissioner called upon the officers to actively engage in the campaign and provide daily reports.
