Kishtwar: In a dedicated effort to empower traditional artisans and craftspersons, a special awareness program on the newly launched PM Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana was held on Friday at ITI Kishtwar, under the astute guidance of GM DIC Kishtwar, Dr. Mohamed Ashraf.
The program was strategically crafted to enlighten the targeted beneficiaries about the nuances of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, a fully funded initiative by the Government of India. This visionary scheme seeks to provide recognition and comprehensive support to artisans and craftspeople utilizing their hands and tools.
PM Vishwakarma Scheme aims to elevate the quality, scale, and market reach of traditional products, integrating artisans seamlessly into the MSME value chains.
The session involved an in-depth discussion to formulate a holistic approach for identifying eligible beneficiaries. Representatives from various departments graced the occasion, delivering insightful speeches on the scheme.
Key attendees included Inam ul Haq, I.C Supervisor ITI; Rajnee Sharma, COPA Instructor; Lead District Manager (Banks); Pankaj Bhandari; Vijay Yadav, Young Professional from the Employment department; and representatives from Handicraft and Handloom departments.
General Manager District Industries Centre, Dr. Mohamed Ashraf, elucidated the procedural intricacies of the scheme, ensuring clarity for all participants.
Expressing gratitude, participants extended their thanks to the government and district administration for the proactive initiatives benefiting the Vishwakarma community.
