Meri Maati Mera Desh: DC Kishtwar engages in Amrit Kalash Yatra at block Thakrie

Kishtwar: Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Devansh Yadav, participated in the Block level Amrit Kalash Yatra organised by the Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Thakrie, under the banner of “Meri Maati Mera Desh” in Block Thakrie of District Kishtwar on Wednesday.
Simultaneously, the event held at Panchayat Filler A, of Block Thakrie, also involved attentively listening to the grievances of the local populace during the Block Diwas program.
Dignitaries and community members from the district administration and Thakrie area, including BDC Chairman Kishori Lal Shan, PO ICDS Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma, ACD Manoj Kumar, Tehsildar Kishtwar Muneeb Umar, AD FCS & CA Shafqat Keen, DSWO Kishtwar Zubair Ahmed Lone, CMO, CAO, CHO, BDO Thakrie Tasleem Wani, along with other block-level officers, field functionaries and PRIs, actively participated in the Amrit Kalash Yatra.
The highlight of the program was the display of patriotic fervour by PRIs and local residents of Block Thakrie. Family members of Veers/Shaheeds were also felicitated with gifts under “Meri Maati Mera Desh” on the occasion. Additionally, the Baby Kits provided by the Health Department and ICDS were handed over to mothers in the presence of PRIs, CMO and PO ICDS.
A symbolic unification occurred as Kalash from 8 different Panchayats within the block contributed humble soil from each Panchayat during the event, creating an Amrit Kalash to be dispatched to the district headquarters in Kishtwar, symbolising unity and devotion to the nation and honouring the fallen heroes.
A patriotic cultural program was also presented by Bhartiya Vidya Mandir School and HSS Filler on the occasion.
In expressing gratitude to the masses and PRIs for their active participation, DC Kishtwar thanked them for collecting soil from every house in the block.
Meanwhile, DC Kishtwar actively participated in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan activities, emphasising the judicious use of Hooper Tipper in the block. During an inspection of Tile works and Construction of Community Compost Pit in the Filler A Panchayat, he stressed the proper utilisation of assets.
In a parallel engagement, Dr. Devansh Yadav IAS presided over the Weekly Block Divas at Thakrie, attentively listening to grievances voiced by PRIs and local residents. He assured them that legitimate concerns would be systematically addressed.
During the Block Diwas, DC Kishtwar informed local youth about an upcoming workshop by District Administration Kishtwar in collaboration with District Employment & Career Counseling Kishtwar and Tech Mahindra Foundation on career opportunities in logistics and allied health sectors, scheduled for 18th October at GDC Kishtwar. He encouraged youth to explore employment and livelihood opportunities in tourism and adventure-related fields, including courses at the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure, Pahalgam.
In response to water supply demands, DC Kishtwar urged Pani Samiti members to submit proposals for left-out habitations for water supply schemes in the DMPU office under the ongoing Jal Jeevan Mission by 14th October 2023.
Similarly, a Block Diwas program was conducted at Tiyari Paddar by SDM Paddar Arun Badyal, addressing grievances and facilitating redressal.
