Poonch: District Development Commissioner, Yasin M. Choudhary chaired a meeting to review the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission.
The primary objective of the mission is to ensure access to potable drinking water for every household in the district.
During the meeting, a comprehensive discussion took place, focusing on the “Har Ghar Jal with Nal” initiative. The SE Hydraulic Circle Poonch updated the chair on the current status of the JJM scheme’s implementation in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner personally assessed the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme with the assistance of the Assistant Executive Engineers, Assistant Engineers, Junior Engineers and other officers. The Deputy Commissioner took stock of the work carried out under the Jal Jeevan Mission in each panchayat of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Engineers to strive towards achieving the target of providing “Har Ghar Jal” (water in every household) by the end of December. Furthermore, the DC urged all AEEs, AEs and JEs to expedite the execution of the DJJM projects throughout the district.
The DC warned that contractors not adhering to timelines will be blacklisted and strict action will be taken against the officers or engineers who are found showing callousness. He also exhorted the officers to bring in notice the reasons for delay of any work and the details of the contractors responsible for the delay.
The focus of this review meeting was to ensure the timely and efficient execution of the JJM projects in Poonch, aligning with the vision of the “Har Ghar Jal with Nal” initiative.
The meeting was attended by SE Hydraulic Circle Poonch, Executive Engineer (PHE), AEEs, AEs, JEs of PHE and AEE PDD and concerned contractors.
