Govt. Degree College Tral Observes Int’l Girl Child Day

Pulwama: Women Development Cell,CASH,Medical Aid Committee and NSS units of Govt.Degree College Tral organized an interaction session and awareness rally on occasion of International Girl Child Day 2023 on 11th October 2023.
The program started with the introductory address by the convener Women Development Cell, Prof.Syeda Laila Khalid where in she delineated the history and significance of observing this day. In her address she also highlighted the role of Women Development Cell in the empowerment of women in and outside the college campus.
Principal of the college Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Malik in his inaugural speech deliberated upon the need to observe this day to ensure and promote girls’ education,their rights and promotion of gender equality. In his encouraging and inspiring speech he quoted various examples wherein girls from downtrodden communities and far-flung areas have proved their mettle. He also assured the girl students about the availability of more facilities in the coming days for them.
Convener of Committee for Anti-Sexual Harassment Dr.Fehmida Wani in her address apprised the students of Ist semester about the functioning of this Committee in the college.
Prof.Feroza Akther, Convener Medical Aid Committee also in her interaction with the students informed them about the availability of first aid facility in the college. Prof.
Rifat Gulzar NSS Programme officer in her address apprised the students about the importance of joining NSS and role of NSS volunteers in and outside the college campus.
Soon after this an awareness rally was also organized that was flagged off by the principal of the college along with other faculty members. Students displayed various placards highlighting the aim and theme of International Girl Child Day. The program concluded with Vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Hilal Ahmad Wani.
