Awareness on Int’l Girl Child Day imparted to GGHSS students in Samba

Samba: As per the Action plan for the month of October, 2023 issued by Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority (JKLSA), District Legal Services Authority, Samba on Wednesday organized an awareness programme on “International Girl Child Day” under the theme “Our time is now- our rights, our future” at Government Girls Hr. Secondary School under the direction of Yesh Pal Kotwal, Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Samba (Principal District & Sessions Judge Samba) and Secretary Rekha Kapoor Nischal.
The event was held in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and ICDS (POSHAN).
Neemisha Rajput, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, Samba and Meenakshi Samkaria, Supervisor POSHAN Project, Samba were the resource persons. They deliberated on different Schemes of their respective departments with special emphasis on “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Ladli Beti” Schemes.
The proceedings of the program were conducted by Versha Anthal, Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel, Samba.
The objective of organizing this program was to make girls aware regarding their rights related to Education, Marriage, health and different schemes of the government for them. Besides this, the program also addressed the challenges that girls face in their day to day life. The program was attended by Bhabna Abrol, Principal Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School Samba, staff members and students of Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School, Samba and Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority Samba.
