Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan Monday convened a meeting of the Officers of Health Department Kupwara to review the progress of LaQshya (Labor room Quality assurance Services) and NQAS (National Quality Health standards) Parameters at Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex, here.
At the outset, the CMO Kupwara gave a detailed PowerPoint Presentation and highlighted the targets/achievements under LaQshya and NQAS parameters.
Dr. Jitendra Mehta, State Nodal officer (Lakhshya, NQas & Asha Functionality) also apprised the DC about facilities of NQAS in different Sub centers, PHCs and CHC of the district. He suggested how shortcomings can be overcome through concerted efforts of all the stakeholders.
The DC took a detailed review of all parameters including labour room and maternity OT facilities under LaQshya. She directed concerned BMOs to work out the gaps under NQAS and LaQshya and complete them so that parameters are improved.
Ayushi stressed on BMOs to take keen interest in LaQshya and NQAS as the main aim of these programmes is to reduce preventable maternal and newborn mortality, morbidity, stillbirths associated with the care around delivery in the labour Room and maternity operation theatre. She impressed upon BMOs to ensure respectful maternity care and improve the quality of healthcare in public Health facilities.
The DC directed BMOs to relook into duty roasters of their jurisdiction and ensure the mismanagement of human resources is avoided. She impressed upon BMOs to strictly implement Biometric attendance and directed CMO Kupwara to nominate a nodal officer to monitor biometric attendance of the entire district.
Meeting was attended by Dr. Jitendra Mehta, State Nodal officer (Lakhshya, NQas & Asha Functionality), CMO Kupwara, Medical Superintendents, all BMOs and other concerned officers.
