Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan on Monday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review Developmental Plan for Heritage sites under ‘Revival, Restoration, Preservation and Maintenance of Architecture & Heritage scheme of J&K’.
On the occasion, the DC directed Executive Engineer R&B to frame DPRs with due consideration to the historical importance and heritage architecture of all the proposed sites in consultation with the experts of the Archeology Department. She impressed upon the R&B to frame holistic developmental plans of all these sites which shall include restoration, revival and also creation of public amenities at these sites.
Ayushi emphasized that development of these heritage sites will boost heritage tourism in the district and will create employment opportunities for the local youth. She also suggested various other sites of historical importance for inclusion in the scheme.
The DC directed Ex. Engineer R&B to submit DPRs of these sites finalized in the meeting in a time bound manner.
