Jammu: Director Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department (FCS&CA) Jammu, Rifat Kohli on Saturday chaired a meeting of Assistant Directors of Jammu District to review the functioning of the Department with regard to implementation of ongoing departmental schemes.
The Director held threadbare discussion on several issues related to the functioning of the Department which inter-alia included progress so far made in e-KYC authentication and pendency thereof, One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC), verification/conversion of Ration cards particularly into PHH Category, Public awareness camps, Awareness and Distribution under Prime Minister’s Food Supplementation for Priority Households Scheme (PMFS).
The Director impressed upon the concerned Officers/officials to make Public awareness regarding e-KYC and the same is to be completed in a time bound manner. She further stressed upon the field functionaries that interstate portability (ONORC) shall be monitored closely and the requirements shall be projected timely so that any beneficiary from outside the state can avail his entitlement from the concerned dealer and there should be no hiccups for implementing ONORC Scheme. The awareness camps need to be conducted about various schemes run by the department and the distribution of informative posters/pamphlets shall be made available in camps for the same. Besides, the concerned officers were apprised about the process of Route optimization plan under the scheme SMART-PDS and were directed to correct and verify the data which is to be reported to the Department of Food & Public Distribution, New Delhi.
The Director made it clear to the field staff that the conversion/modification in any Ration card shall be made to the those households only who fulfills the conditions as per the policy and instructions issued by the Government from time to time and who falls within the criteria prescribed in Rule (3) of J&K Food Security Rule, 2021 and the concerned officials on receipt of such applications shall proceed further after conducting spot enquiry & verification meticulously and after proper enquiry shall only modify the Ration card as prescribed under J&K TPDS Control Order, 2023 issued vide S.O 41 Dt. 19.01.2023. The special thrust was laid on initiating criminal proceedings under relevant provision of law against person(s) who misinform/mislead for obtaining Ration card in a particular category.
Besides, Deputy Director, Food and Rationing and Deputy Director, Planning were also present in the meeting.
