New Delhi: Sh. Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager Northern Railway held a review meeting with the departmental heads of Northern Railway and DRMs. On the occasion, Deliberations were held on keeping focus on safety on tracks, Mobility Enhancement work, Business Development Units and Freight loading.
Chaudhuri stressed upon provision of Minimum Essential Amenities such as Increase of Platform heights, PA system, Foot Over Bridges, Platform shelter, drinking water, Water Coolers, seating arrangements, Toilets, Lightings, Parking cum Circulating area, Time-table display board, Signage, Electronic train Indicator Boards, Dustbins etc. at all stations over Northern Railway. He said that, safety is the prime focus over Northern Railway, & reviewed the work done over the zone in improving the maintenance standard of track, welds and removal of scrap lying near the tracks.
He further said the monitoring of rail fractures and rail welds should be done extensively and no error should be left, while reviewed the progress of infrastructure projects and directed allconcerns to complete the work within stipulated time. He also emphasized on focusing on electrical safety on tracks as well as safety in relay and panel rooms for error free movement of trains, & stressed upon the minimizing the human failure in train operation. He also instructed the department heads and DRMs, to maintain the punctuality to keep pace for freight loading with safety as priority. Taking on freight Business Development, the GM took stock of the outreach of the Business Development Units, & also instructed that BDUs should create an environment of trust, support and confidence amongst the customers. He added that the initiatives and concessions offered by the Railways should reach the clients.
