Swachhata Hi Seva: Awareness progs, Cleanliness drives held across all Distt Court Complexes in Kashmir

Srinagar: As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) (Cleanliness is Service) campaign, initiated by the Government of India to promote the importance of cleanliness and sanitation in the country, massive awareness cum cleanliness drives were held across all District Court Complexes in Kashmir.
At Srinagar, in a remarkable display of commitment to the principles of cleanliness and sustainable living, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar, under the aegis of J&K Legal Services Authority spearheaded a stellar ‘SwachhataAbhiyan’ at District Court Complex, Moominabad, Srinagar. This initiative was organized as part of the national campaign ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa-2023 (SHS-2023)’ to commemorate the 154th birth anniversary of the father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Under the leadership and guidance of Chairman DLSA Srinagar, Jawad Ahmed, the ‘SwachhataAbhiyan’ witnessed enthusiastic participation of Judicial Officers from District Srinagar, dedicated staff members of District Judiciary Srinagar and DLSA, Srinagar, members of the Legal Aid Defense Counsel (LADC), Penal Lawyers, devoted Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) and diligent officials from the Municipal Corporation, Srinagar. The event commenced with an inspiring cleanliness drive within the District Court Complex, setting the tone for a cleaner and greener environment. Participants in a collective effort to clean and beautify their surroundings took up brooms to sweep away the debris of neglect, breathing new life into the surroundings. One of the highlights of the ‘SwachhataAbhiyan’ was a spirited rally led by Jawad Ahmed, Chairman DLSA Srinagar. The rally aimed to emphasize the significance of a clean and green environment, echoing the timeless wisdom of Mahatma Gandhi. Jawad Ahmed, in his special remarks on the occasion, shared his thoughts on the importance of cleanliness, saying, ‘Cleanliness is not just a virtue; it’s a way of life. It reflects our commitment to a healthier and more sustainable future. This initiative is a testament to the indomitable spirit of our community and our unwavering commitment to the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. It is a reminder that the path to a cleaner and greener world begins with each one of us. We must prioritize waste segregation and efficient management as part of our daily lives, for it is through these small steps that we can make an enormous impact’. The participants also took pledge that they shall take keen interest in keeping their surroundings neat and clean. The ‘SwachhataAbhiyan’ organized by DLSA, Srinagar, was not only an ode to the great Mahatma but also a testament to the spirit of unity and determination in the pursuit of a cleaner and more sustainable world.
At Budgam, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Budgam under the aegis of J&K Legal Services Authority on Monday took an inspiring step forward in the pursuit of the vision of Mahatma Gandhi with the ‘SwachhataAbhiyan’. This remarkable initiative is an integral part of the national campaign ‘Swachata Hi Sewa-2023 (SHS-2023),’ dedicated to the ideals of cleanliness and sustainable living. Under the leadership of Additional District & Sessions Judge, Budgam, Aijaz Ahmad Khan, the ‘SwachhataAbhiyan’ unfolded at the Court Complex, Budgam, illuminating the path towards a cleaner and greener future. This initiative witnessed the active participation of Judicial Officers from District Budgam, dedicated staff members of District Judiciary Budgam and DLSA, Budgam, members of the Legal Aid Defense Counsel (LADC), Penal Lawyers, enthusiastic Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs), and committed officials from the Municipal Council, Budgam. The event commenced with an inspiring cleanliness drive that transcended symbolic gestures and made a tangible impact on the surroundings. Participants, including legal luminaries and civic representatives, picked up brooms and joined hands to rid the area of debris, embodying the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi’s call for cleanliness. A pivotal moment during the ‘SwachhataAbhiyan’ was the spirited rally led by Aijaz Ahmad Khan, ADJ Budgam. This rally was not just a procession; it was a passionate demonstration of the importance of a clean and green environment. Khan took the opportunity to emphasize the critical role of waste segregation and its effective management, highlighting the need for collective action in preserving our planet. The ‘SwachhataAbhiyan’ organized by DLSA, Budgam, reflects not only a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi but also a dedication to transforming his vision into a reality. It underscores the power of collective action in creating a sustainable future for generations to come. Similar events were conducted by Tehsil Legal Services Committees of Chadoora, Beerwa and Magam.
At Ganderbal, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal, under the aegis of J&K Legal Services Authority on Monday organized a remarkable event ‘Swachchata Hi Sewa (SHS-2023)’ as part of the national campaign. The event aimed to commemorate the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. Under the guidance of the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Ritesh Kumar Dubey and the supervision of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Fayaz Ahmad Qureshi and Sub-Judge/ Secretary DLSA Ganderbal, Nusrat Ali Hakak, this event garnered immense participation from distinguished members of the legal community. The event served as a platform for the convergence of legal professionals, including court staff, DLSA staff, Public Prosecutors, Prosecution staff, e-court staff, officials from Municipality Ganderbal and PLVs of DLSA. Together, they showcased the spirit of unity and harmony in their collective efforts to promote cleanliness and Swachchata hi Sewa. By honoring Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a clean and hygienic nation, this campaign besides paying tribute to his enduring legacy also highlighted the importance of cleanliness and sanitation in our society. All the Ld. Judicial Officers spoke on this auspicious occasion. They highlighted the significance of Gandhiji’s principles of cleanliness, hygiene, and selfless service to society, which align perfectly with the objectives of the “Swachata Hi Sewa (SHS2023)” campaign. They emphasized that cleanliness is not only a physical endeavor but also a reflection of our moral values and an integral aspect of personal and public hygiene. They encouraged all the participants to actively participate in cleanliness drives, support the Swachh Bharat Mission, and take responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of their surroundings. The campaign involved various activities, such as cleanliness drives, awareness sessions, rally and interactive discussions on the importance of cleanliness and its impact on public health and well-being. This initiative aimed to foster a sense of responsibility among individuals towards maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings and creating a healthier and more sustainable environment. Para Legal Volunteers, court staff, actively participated in cleaning the surroundings, raising awareness about cleanliness, and educating the participants on the importance of maintaining a hygienic environment. . The event concluded successfully, leaving a lasting impact on the participants and the community at large. The event was also held at MunsiffKangan and Tehsil Legal Services Authority Kangan with zeal and zest.
At Anantnag, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Anantnagon Monday organized a massive Cleanliness Drive under the banner ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ at District Court Complex, here. The function was inaugurated by Chairman DLSA, JafferHussain Beg (PDJ) Anantnag in coordination with Municipal Council Anantnag. In addition to this all the TLSC’s associated with District AnantnagieVailoo, Bijbehara, Aishmuqam, Shangus and Doru also held Swachhata Drives in their respective jurisdictions. The whole programme was conducted under the guidance of Chairman DLSA Anantnag and overall supervision of Secretary DLSA, TabassumQadir Parry. Among others, the programme was attended by Chief Judicial Magistrate Anantnag, FaizanUlHaqlqbal and other Judicial Officers, LADCs, staff members of District Court Anantnag and DLSA Anantnag Staff panel lawyers and PLVs.
At Kulgam, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kulgam in collaboration with District Judiciary Kulgam and Municipal Council Kulgamon Monday held one day Cleanliness drive under ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa-2023’ national campaign in a remarkable display of community engagement and commitment to Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of cleanliness and sustainability. The event took place at the premises of District Court Kulgam as a tribute to the great visionary – Mahatma Gandhi ji. The programmes were held under the guidance of the Chairman District Legal Services Authority /Principal District and Sessions Judge Kulgam, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat and under the supervision of the Sub-Judge/Secretary (DLSA) Kulgam, TabassumQadirParray. The celebration aimed to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi and promote his principles of cleanliness and sustainability. The drive was inaugurated by Chief Judicial Magistrate Kulgam, Abdul Qayoom Mir in presence of Additional Mobile Magistrate KulgamMuneer Ahmad; MunsiffD.H.PoraMudasir Bashir and witnessed a strong participation of staff of judiciary and PLVs of District Kulgam, Safayikaramcharis from Municipality. The celebration aimed to honor the teachings and principles of Mahatma Gandhi. In addition, the DLSA Kulgam organized a series of activities including awareness sessions, cleanliness drives, within the court premises to commemorate the occasion. The celebration of Gandhi Jayanti in the District Court Kulgam showcased a resounding dedication to preserving the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi ji and spreading awareness of the importance of cleanliness and sustainability in society. It served as a reminder of the continued relevance of his teachings amidst the challenges faced by our modern world.
At Bandipora: Under the banner of nationwide campaign SwachhataPakhwada ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Bandipora in collaboration with District Judiciary Bandipora and Municipal Council Bandipora Monday held a cleanliness drive within the premises of District Court Complex Bandipora. The drive witnessed staff, cleaning the premises with the aim of fostering cleanliness and a sense of responsibility for their community’s hygiene. The drive was carried out under the supervision of Chairman DLSA, (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Bandipora, Amit Sharma. Secretary DLSA Bandipora, Nusrat Ali Hakak besides other staff members of the Judiciary were present on the occasion. Among others, the event was attended by Chief Judicial Magistrate BandiporaManzoor Ahmad Zargar, besides Chairman MC BandiporaBasharat Ahmad Najar and others. The event commenced with the “Swachhata Pledge” administered by Chairman DLSA Bandipora symbolizing the unwavering commitment to nurturing a cleaner and more sustainable environment. During the drive, litters were collected in huge garbage sacks and collectively segregated for proper disposal. Also wastes in the Court premises were cleared. The stacked bins kept for dumping wastes were also emptied in garbage bags. All the waste collected was handed over to the Municipal Council Authorities for further proper disposal. In addition, two more cleanliness drives were undertaken at Talukas, one at Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Sumbal and another at Tehsil Legal Services Committee Gurez.
