Kalantra Man arrested for raping his daughter in Baramulla: Police

Srinagar: Police in Baramulla on Monday successfully apprehended a rape accused within hours after a complaint was filed.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Police Station Kreeri received a written complaint from one girl (name withheld) age about 19 years wherein it was alleged that the said girl was raped by her father namely Mohd Rafeeq Mochi S/o Abdul Jabbar R/o Kalantra Payeen, Baramulla and is absconding from home.
Stating that police has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Kreeri initiated investigation, . Police in its statement furthrr said that during the course of investigation, after strenuous efforts the accused person was traced and arrested within hours after the complaint was received. Police in it’s statement furthermore said that the accused has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody, adding therein that medico-legal formalities of the victim girl have been conducted and further investigation of the case is in progress.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood.
