Udhampur: The District Administration Udhampur on Saturday organised a sports event here in Subhash Stadium to celebrate the ODF Plus Model Village status to District Udhampur and the whole J&K, which was bestowed upon it on 15th of August 2023.
Around 2000 people attended the event and lit the Diyas to celebrate the Model Village plus status of District Udhampur. Local citizens, PRI members, youths, officers, officials, and NRLM women participated in large numbers and celebrated the Model Village plus status.
Under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) campaign, from 15 September to 2 October, RDD is going to organise a series of activities in the district in order to celebrate the ODF Plus Model Village status and to disseminate the message to uphold the status of ODF Plus. A message was also given to the people to participate in large numbers in the Cleanliness Drive especially to be conducted on 1 October.
The Cleanliness Drive will be conducted in every ward, village, and Panchayat of District Udhampur. Parbhari Officers have also been nominated by the District Administration Udhampur.
A message was given to the youth that they are the future of the nation and that they should act as Brand Ambassadors to take forward the Swachh Bharat Mission campaign and sustain the ODF plus status of District Udhampur.
PRI members and councillors were requested to ensure large participation in the Cleanliness Drive and contribute to making the country and District Udhampur garbage-free and clean.
The event was chaired by Ghan Shyam Singh, ADDC Udhampur, Dr Ranjeet Singh Kotwal, Assistant Commissioner Development Udhampur.
