District Poonch declared ODF plus Model under SBM (G) Swachhata Hi Seva campaign in full swing

Poonch: In a significant milestone, Poonch District has achieved in the cleanliness and sanitation efforts, as it has been declared as ODF plus Model under the Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen (SBM-G) initiative.
This prestigious recognition has been bestowed upon Poonch District, acknowledging its exceptional progress in the field of rural sanitation as all Panchayats of the District have attained the ODF plus Model status under the SBM-G.
Under the mission, 86150 HHL, 59300 Soakpits, 39317 Kitchen garden, 90 Segregation Sheds, 41 Community Soak Pits, 145 Community Compost Pits, 3673 individual Compost Pits and more than 200 CSCs were Constructed besides work on 4 Plastic Waste management units is going on.
This remarkable achievement is a testament to efforts of the Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yaseen M Choudhary (IAS) Assistant Commissioner Panchayats Naeem Ul Nisa Bhatti , DPO, BDOs, and all the Rural Development staff towards ensuring cleanliness and proper sanitation facilities in rural areas.
The Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen initiative aims to bring about a comprehensive transformation in the sanitation and hygiene practices of rural India.
It strives to eliminate open defecation, promote solid and liquid waste management, and foster a culture of cleanliness and hygiene among the rural population.
By being declared a model district, Poonch has demonstrated its commitment to these goals and has set an example for other districts to follow.
Meanwhile, the events under “Ek Taarikh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” have been created in all the 176 villages of the district and in majority of the schools and colleges to mark the celebration of Gandhi Jayanti.
