“On campus recruitments could by all standards of understandabilities reduce the increasing trends of unemployment and throw up new lucrative job opportunities to Engineers, MBA Pass outs and media professionals across Jammu & Kashmir”.
Though on campus recruitments of Engineers, MBA Pass outs and media professionals have been introduced in several colleges and universities in different states and union territories of the country long back but the practice started just last year in Polytechnic and Engineering Colleges in Jammu & Kashmir has been unfortunately discontinued this year for none of the obvious reason. Since on campus recruitments could by all standards of understandabilities reduce the increasing trends of unemployment and throw up new lucrative job opportunities to Engineers, MBA Pass outs and media professionals across Jammu & Kashmir, the continuation of the on campus recruitments could hugely change the employment scenario besides reducing the socio-economic disparities amongst the people of different sections of the society in Jammu & Kashmir. While the fact remains that youth in Jammu & Kashmir from medical, engineering and business management backgrounds are moving out not only to other parts of the country but also to several countries in middle east and Europe for better employment avenues, the Jammu & Kashmir Government would do well to reduce the intensity of unprecedented rise in unemployment if it sets up on campus recruitment cells in engineering colleges and universities across Jammu & Kashmir. The onus of setting up on campus recruitment cells in Jammu & Kashmir does not only lie on Skill Development Department but also on other allied departments like Information Technology and Higher Education Departments and much better it would if such departments cooperate and coordinate for overseeing the progress of the working of on campus recruitment cells after they are set up in engineering colleges and universities in both Kashmir Valley and as well as Jammu division.

While experiences have shown that focus on promotion of sports has resulted in attitudinal changes amongst the youth both in Kashmir Valley and as well as Jammu division, a much bigger attention on campus recruitments in colleges and universities could hopefully change Government’s any on campus recruitment drive into a mission of youth empowerment across Jammu & Kashmir”.
