Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested three drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered contraband/ psychotropic substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that in Baramulla district a police party of Police Post Wussan headed by Incharge Police Post Wussan under the supervision of SDPO Pattan at a checkpoint established at Sultanpora Crossing intercepted a person identified as Shahid Hussain Dar S/o Ghulam Hassan R/o Sultanpora Pattan and during checking recovered 8 bottles of Tusklis-T (Codeine Phosphate) from his possession.
Police in its statement further said that in a similar action a police party of Police Station Uri headed by SHO Police Station Uri under the supervision of SDPO Uri at a checkpoint at Garkote-Laghama Crossing Uri intercepted a suspect identified as Shabir Ahmad Janiua S/o Abdul Majeed R/o Machi Khrud Uri, adding therein that during checking, 110 grams of contraband Charas like substance was recovered from his possession.
Stating that in yet another similar action a police party of Police Station Sheeri headed by SHO Police Station Sheeri under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Zandfaran intercepted a suspect identified as Javid Ahmad Mir S/o Atta Mohd Mir R/o Laridora and during checking recovered 64 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus from his possession, Police in it’s statement further said that all the accused have been arrested and shifted to respective police stations where they remain in custody, besides which the cases under relevant sections of law were also registered at respective police stations besides which investigation has been also initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police appealed people to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112 for any such incident and urged people to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society.
