Meet Saira Hamid, aspiring athlete from Awantipora, who yearns to play ‘Wushu’ at Asian Games

Awantipora: Saira Hamid, an aspiring athlete from Chersoo village of Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district has been actively participating in sports activities across the UT to chase her dreams.
Student of 9th class at Hajahad Public School in Awantipora, Saira played several national level competitions, besides representing her district at many UT level competitions, and has been showing great performance in Wushu Martial Art.
She recently won bronze medal in Wushu Martial Art at Khelo India Championship, which was held at Srinagar, J&K, following which she is aspiring to play Wushu in Asian Games now.
Saira has been getting training from her coaches named Shoiab Amin Wani & Yasir Akbar, while she is enrolled at Ali Sports Academy Pulwama for coaching purposes.
It is pertinent to mention here that besides Wushu, young Saira is playing Arm Wrestling as well, and had earlier participated in one of the National level competitions in the same sport.
