Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that it has arrested four drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said that a police party of Police Station Kunzer headed by SHO PS Kunzer under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg at checkpoints established at Lolpora & Chanpora Kunzer Bridge intercepted three persons identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Sheikh S/o Gh Mohammad R/o Dara Kunjan Boniyar, Danish Ahmad Dhobi S/o Gh Mohammad R/o Ugmuna & Sahil Ahmad Reshi S/o Abdul Samad R/o Chanpora, adding therein that during search, 225 grams of Charas was recovered from their possession.
Police in it’s statement further said that in a similar action a police party of PS Uri headed by SHO Police Station Uri under the supervision of SDPO Uri at a checkpoint established at Jabla Bridge intercepted one person identified as Zubair Ahmad Badan S/o Mohammad Nazir R/o Dachi Uri, adding therein that during search 38 grams of Charas was recovered from his Possession.
Stating that all the accused persons have been arrested and shifted to respective police stations where they remain in custody and cases have been also accordingly being registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Kunzer and Uri besides which investigation has also been initiated, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and assured that efforts are on to curb this menace from the society.
