Srinagar: Police on Friday said that it has arrested an accused person for being involved in an attack on a student with a sharp object at Qamariya Park Ganderbal.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on Thursday this week a scuffle broke out between two persons at Qamariya Park Ganderbal wherein Mohd Irfan (Student) S/o Ab Hamid Sheikh R/o Saloora Ganderbal got injured when he was attacked by another person with a sharp object/thread cutter, adding therein that the injured was promptly shifted to the District Hospital Ganderbal for immediate medical attention.
Police in its statement further said that while acting swiftly, a police party led by SHO Ganderbal Insp. Manzoor Ahmad reached the spot and during preliminary investigation, it came to surface that one person namely Abrar Ahmad Parray S/o Mohd Ismail Parray R/o Rangil Nagbal has attacked the victim with a sharp object and fled away from the spot.
Stating that a case FIR No. 271/2023, under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Ganderbal, Police in it’s statement furthermore said that a special police team was constituted under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal to investigate the case, adding therein that after exhaustive efforts, the police team successfully apprehended the accused person Abrar Ahmad Parray at Nagbal Chowk near Petrol Pump.
Police in it’s statement further said that during further investigation, it came fore that the scuffle had taken place between the duo over a love affair with a same girl (Name Withheld) following which the heated argument between the two turned into scuffle in which the victim got injured.
